Handmade Tamegroute pottery The special pottery from Tamegroute, one of the oldest villages in Southern Morocco, takes you on a journey right in your own home. In this small village just north of the Sahara, families pass on the ancient art of pottery from generation to generation. The Tamegroute dishes, vases, bowls and candlesticks are easily recognisable, thanks to their unmistakable green and brown tones. They are the result of a slow artisanal process, where nothing is measured or weighed. Every action is based on the artisan's gut feeling and the knowledge passed on in the family workshops. This means that every item comes out of the oven a little bit different, and 100% unique. Each step in the creation process, from the turning technique to the exact temperature of the kiln, the way of stacking and the composition of the glaze, influences the final product. The resulting slight colour variations, cracks and patterns make every item unique and bring the world into your living room.
